TAM ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION TOPIC: How joining a Toastmasters Club has made a significant difference in my life
The competition is open to:
1. Singapore citizen aged 18 and above.
2. All
Toastmasters and Clubs in good standing.
3. Each toastmaster is allowed to submit only one entry.
4. Submissions MUST BE TYPEWRITTEN ON A4 SIZE PAPER, DOUBLE SPACED, USING FONT TYPE TIMES ROMAN, FONT SIZE 12. EXPECTED LENGTH OF ESSAY: 200 – 250 WORDS. Please indicate the number of words at the end of your essay.
5. The TAM Essay Writing Competition Sub-Committee RESERVES THE COPYRIGHT OF ALL MATERIALS SUBMITTED AND TO USE THEM FOR EXHIBITS OR PUBLICATION.
6. All winners will be notified by email/telephone, prizes will be presented on Saturday 17 April’04 at the Singapore Discovery Centre.
JUDGING CRITERIA
1. CONTENT (40 %)
2. LANGUAGE (30%) Sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, paragraphing, and word choice.
3 PERSUASIVENESS (30%) Development of ideas, logic and organisation.
