Motto for 2003/2004
Mission
· Ensure Club fulfills its responsibilities to its members and becomes a Distinguished Club,
· Promote and extend the benefits of membership in Toastmasters Clubs,
· Help in the organization of Clubs
· Develop a close relationship between individual clubs and TI
· Facilitate the training of Club Officers
· Encourage Clubs to undertake programming which will create greater community awareness of Toastmasters and make the benefits of Toastmasters programs available to more people
Vision
· Area D1 will be a premier Area in its own Division D and be among the top 3 Areas in Division D.
· Among District 51, we aspire to be recognised as a dynamic Area of very high standards.
Area Council Function (Area Council Members : Area Governor, Club Presidents, VPE & VPM)
Provide Assistance to Club Officers in :
a. Club leadership training;
b. Building membership;
c. Spotting opportunities for and organizing new Clubs;
d. Educational completions and programming;
e. Public relations
f. Club administration;
g. Area speech contests;
h. Inter-Club activities;
i. Club programming.
Set goals for the Area and each Club; follow up on progress toward goals.
Share news, ideas and suggestions.
Discuss Club needs.
Keep communication open between Area and Clubs
Discuss Area and Club problems with the District Governor or District representative.
Area’s Goals
· Achieve all 9 Area Goals by 30 June 2004.
· To conscientiously help all Area D1 Clubs becoming Select Distinguished Clubs
9 Goals to achieve
Toastmasters International (TI) has set 9 goals for every area to strive for. The area’s distinction depends on how many goals it achieves:
Distinguished Area – 4 of the First 5 Goals
Select Distinguish Area – First 8 Goals
President’s Distinguished Area – All 9 Goals
Our target is to achieve the President's Distinguished Area i.e. achieving all 9 Distinguished Area Programme goals.
