Area Governor welcomes all Clubs Officers 

1.1

AG Goals

–         YP congratulated all Area D1 Clubs for achieving Select Distinguished Area (8 Goals) last term 2002 – 2003

–         All Clubs are contributing to the AG Goals as per handouts on Area Success Plan.

–         On past record, the new energetic leadership and their experience, Area D1 has the high potential of achieving Presidents’ Distinguished Area this new term 2003 -2004.  We need to charter one more new Club in Area D1. YP encouraged all Clubs to look for prospects of a new Club within Area D1.

AG Calendar (will be updated and sent to all Clubs when necessary)

-          YP advised that the Calendar will be very useful for Club Officers to monitor the important dates

-          Officers are advised to confirm their Club's Contests Dates as soon as possible.

(Kindly call YP if you need any help during your Club's Contests)

-          Activities like Contests, Special Talks and Clubs Meetings organized by Clubs in other Areas and Divisions will also included, YP encouraged members to participate actively.

-          28 July 2003, Monday, Radin Mas is having a membership recruitment programme that includes a Special Talk by Lynn Desker.  Our members are encouraged to bring their friends as guests. Details would be sent after the meeting.

-          4 meeting dates, 2 during COTs & 2 before Area Contests Club Visits

Club Visit

-          YP has visited Lion City and Singapore Tamil, and will be attending the Installation Night at SIA and the Special Talk at Radin Mas

-          YP will make at least 3 Visits for each Club for the term, all Presidents or VPEs can call YP if and when they need help.

Successor for new term

-          All Clubs Officers can volunteer or nominate new AG at any time, AG Elect will be announced on 4th Area Council Meeting

-          All Clubs Officers always look up for Potential Successors of their own too.

Area Speech Contest Planning 

Area Contests dates were discussed and confirmed for

-          Humorous and Evaluation Contests jointly organized by Radin Mas and Singapore Tamil, on 11 Oct 2003 (not finalized yet) at Radin Mas CC (please check the footnotes for further change)

-          Prepared Speech and TT Contests jointly organized by Lion City and SIA, on 22 Mar 2004 at Lion City TMC, The Pinetree Club

Footnotes after meeting

YP noted that her Home Club Area D5 Contest would be on 11 Oct, therefore has requested Radin Mas and Singapore Tamil to change the H&E Contest date and hopefully to confirm by 25 July, Friday.

Club Presidents have received from YP

-          Club Success Plan that includes Club Mission, Vision, DCP Goals & Education Progarmme for the Club  

-          Important Dates

-          Special Programme

YP stated that the Club Success Plan has helped her Home Club, Sky Media TMC achieved the 10/10 Goals before 30 April 2003 and awarded Presidents’ Distinguished Club before end of the term.

Hoping that all Club Presidents will monitor closely with their Clubs Goals and DCP.

Challenges/Problems within the Club

-          YP advised that the Network among Divisions, Areas and Clubs will provide great help to any Club who needs appointment holders, project  speakers and special programs such as Workshop & Special Talk. These will make meetings more interesting & exciting with more variety as compared to the regular meetings run by internal Club members.

Short notes from ATM-S, David Chee Assistant Division Governor on Clubs and Membership 

-          David (Chief Running Bull) briefly described the function of his sub-committee, Strike Force.  The Team will play an assistance role not a leadership role, all Clubs are encouraged to use the Team in regards to manpower and also wish to inject Element of Fun to their Clubs.

Educational Awards from Area Governor 

-          All Clubs Presidents to announce to their Clubs Members that Area D1 Governor, YP will give away TI Gold Plated Key Chain to the following awards:

o        The first 4 CTMs of Each Club

o        The first 2 ATMs of Each Club

-          After note: Our Division D Governor will send a special recognition note to any new CTM or ATM achiever upon receipt from Area Governors
