Area Governor welcome all attendees and thanks for their very supportive efforts and times, as it is not common and easy for the Area Governors to call for Area Council Meeting, according to some other AGs.

Area Contest Preparation

-          AG advised all Club Presidents to check on the Eligibility of Contestants

-          Draft programme was discussed; Dinner has been replaced by Refreshment.

-          It was confirmed that AG would sponsor the 3 prizes for “Guess the Champion” – 18K Gold Plated TI Key Chain.

-          Radin Mas would help on Catering and clearing, it was suggested that only finger foods and noodle to be provided, budget $5/pax, estimate 50 pax.

-          Singapore Tamil would help on Reception and the “Box” for drawing of “Guess the Champion”, also the hanging of Clubs Banners and display of trophies at stage.

-          Radin Mas & Singapore Tamil to bring their Clubs Timing lights, Colour Flip Card also the 2 Stop watches.

-          AG would prepare the Certificates for participants and appointment holders.

-          Appointment Holders have been assigned by AG

-          4 Club Presidents would help to promote and sell Tickets to the members, payment to AG on the Contest day or earlier, please report the numbers of Tickets sold by 6^th Oct of catering purposes.

-          Singapore Tamil would submit 1-2 more Contestants names by 22 September.

-          AG recommended all Clubs to bring their Clubs Flyers to promote their Clubs during the Contest, as there would be non-TMs attending our Contest. The Clubs can invite their potential members to attend too.

Club Success Plan (CSP)

Club Presidents have reported their clubs DCP reports; it was very encouraging from the commitment of each Club.

-          Lion City – targeting to achieve min. 8 Goals to become at least the Select Distinguish Club

-          Radin Mas – targeting to achieve min. 5 Goals to become at least the Distinguish Club

-          Singapore Airlines – targeting to achieve min. 9 Goals to become the President Distinguish Club  

-          Singapore Tamil – targeting to achieve 10/10 Goals to become President Distinguish Club  

All Club Presidents would monitor closely with their Clubs Goals and DCP. 

Special congratulation to Singapore Airline for getting the Smedley Awards from TI, as the Club has recruited more than 5 new members (7 members in exact) from July – Sep 2003.

AG requested Club Presidents to report on the names of members once they achieve the CTM & ATM status, as they would receive the 18K Gold Plated TI Key Chain from AG, and Division Governor, Michael Rodrigues would also like to recognise them in our own division D.

The district will also award  a 18K gold plated CTM pin for the first 100 members who completes a CTM and registers it  with Toastmasters International during the months of September and October 2003.

Club Membership Dues Collection

-          Radin Mas has submitted the Dues for 11 members.

      AG has also joint Radin Mas as the VPE for the Club too, and she is now a members in Area D1

-          Singapore Airlines has submitted the Dues for 65 members.

-          Lion City would submit membership dues by end September for 23 members.

-          Singapore Tamil would submit membership dues by end September for 17 members or more.

-          AG advised that the membership dues contribute 0.5 Goals for DCP, upon submission the dues by end of September, all clubs will obtain 1 Goal, as the other 0.5 goal is for the submission of Club Officers list which was submitted before end June 2003.

Area Success Plan (ASP)

-          AG would update the ASP by end September after membership dues submitted by all Clubs.

-          AG announced that Area D1 was the 1^st Area who submitted the Club Visit Forms in Division D, thanks the contribution of all Clubs to help to complete the Forms on time.

-          The First 8 goals in ASP are achievable looking at the ASP reported by Club Presidents.

-          As for 9^th Goal, AG requested Clubs to look around for any potential Toastmaster Club to be chartered. It is only with net growth of Club, our Area can then be a President Distinguish Area.

-     Singapore Tamil is working on chartering a Gavel Club for Students who wish to improve their Tamil Language, congratulation to their efforts!

Challenges/Problems within the Club

-          AG hoped that all D1 Clubs can work as a team to help each other when needed, especially for appointment holders even Special Talks by some senior experience TMs.

-          AG can help to look up for Appointment holders, but hopefully not last minutes arrangement, still would try even urgent need but no promise.

-          AG reported that, due the membership strength (only 11) in Radin Mas, Club Coaches have been appointed, and hopped that D1 Clubs can support by getting members to attend their meeting to enlighten the meeting so as to attract more potential members to sign up.

-          SIA VPE said the great challenge to the Club is how to attract members to attend the meeting, though SIA TMC has 65 members.

-          SIA VPE Eng Liang is interested in Speechcraft programme, AG would get information for him.

TI Night on 19 Oct

-          AG wished to book one table for Area D1 or combine with her home club, as there are total 13 from Sky Media TMC.

-          SIA would check if they need a table for their own Club.

-          Audrey said Seng Chuan would represent Lion City.

-          Singapore Tamil and Radin Mas would check with the members

11^th Semi-Annual Convention, 14 -16 Nov in KK

-          Audrey would go if the Winner is from Lion City.

-     AG would go if any of Area D1 Contestants wins the Division D Contest, without further hesitation too.

-          All other Clubs are considering.
