The District
Leadership Committee invites qualified members to submit their
application for office for the Term 2016/2017. This is in
addition to candidates who have announced their intentions to
run for office.
If eligible, you
may submit your application as a candidate for office for the
following positions:-
a) District
Director
b) Program
Quality Director
c)
Club Growth Director
d) Division
Director
Eligibility:
a)
District Director
You must have
served at least 6 consecutive months as a Club President and at
least 12 consecutive months as Lieutenant Governor, Division
Director or combination of both.
b)
Program Quality Director
You must have
served at least 6 consecutive months as Club President and at
least 12 consecutive months as a Lieutenant Governor, Division
Director, Area Director or a combination of these.
c)
Club Growth Director
You must have
served at least 6 consecutive months as Club President and at
least 12 consecutive months as Lieutenant Governor, Division
Director, Area Director or a combination of these.
d)
Division Director
You must have
served at least 6 consecutive months as a member of the District
Council.

Submission
of Applications:
You are required
to complete 3 Forms in full and legibly, they are:-
i) Form
1: Candidate
Application (two pages);
ii) Form
2: District
Leader Nominating Form (one page); and
iii) Form
3:
Officer Agreement and Release Form (one page)
If you wish to be
considered by the District Leadership Nominating Committee as a
candidate for office, Forms 1, 2 and 3 (complete set) must reach
the District Leadership Committee Chair by latest 11.59
pm, Monday, 1 February 2016. Failing which, your
nomination will not be considered. You may stand (if eligible)
as a floor candidate at the District Council Meeting.

If for whatever
reason(s) your complete set of application forms does not reach
the District Leadership Nominating Committee by latest 11.59 pm,
Monday, 1 February 2016, the Committee will take no
responsibility for this. It remains your duty at all times to
ensure that the properly completed forms are submitted before
the deadline.
Please take
note:
√
District executive committee members shall
not take any action to endorse or officially support any
district officer candidate;
√
Candidates shall only send 2 mailings, which
are to be sent to club presidents, club vice presidents of
education and members of the district executive committee. The 1st
mailing is sent between 1 Jan and 31 March and the 2nd
mailing is sent between the announcement of the District
nominating committee results and the District Annual Meeting;
√
Candidate may maintain a website to promote
his or her candidacy. The website may be linked or referenced
only on the candidate’s home club site and in campaign mailings.
A blog may be maintained and included on a candidate’s website.
Automatic notices are allowed;
√
Candidates may create a campaign profile on
social media for the purpose of promoting his or her campaign.
This must be separate from any existing social media profile the
candidate has. Existing social media profile may be linked to
their campaign profile and site;
√
Candidates may use the Toastmasters
trademark, including the logo and the names “Toastmasters” and
“Toastmasters International” on campaign materials and websites;
√
District officer candidates including floor
candidates may speak and give educational presentations at
district conferences at a time other than during the district
annual meeting;
√
Candidate may distribute campaign materials
at the District conference and display campaign materials only
in the candidate corner at the District conference;
√
At District non-election meetings such as
area and division speech contests, candidates may distribute
campaign materials, display campaign materials at the candidates
corner where each candidate will be given equal access and be
introduced as long as all candidates present are introduced;
√
Candidates may not present at any district
non-election meeting;
√
Advertisements in district publications, such
as newsletters, at conference programs or on websites by or on
behalf of candidates for district office are not permitted; and
√
District Executive Committee members shall
not take any action to endorse or officially support any
district officer candidate.
