Edward Ma DTM
Edward joined Toastmasters in June 2000 as he found its programme quite interesting. Then, he became convinced that Toastmasters would not only help him improve in his communication
skills but will also offer more opportunities in broadening his exposure to various fronts such as improving his leadership skills too. He further adds that he has always been an introvert and reserved but because of his exposure to so many opportunities to
collaborate with fellow toastmasters, he was able to open himself more. He is now much better at expressing his views in front of other people and to quickly accept new challenges. He will never hesitate recommending Toastmasters to anyone because he knows
that the organization can help in improving and enriching ones life.
His most important achievements are the Presidents Distinguished Award as Division Governor and the Select Distinguished Award as District 80 Governor in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
But the one that gave him incomparable elation was finding a new home for the then, Kowloon-Singapore TMC from Toa Payoh Central CC to Kampong Ubi CC, now known as Kampong Ubi TMC. Edward is a Toastmaster worthy of emulation.
Augustine Lee DTM
Augustine Lee, DTM joined Toastmasters in 1982. He just came out of National Service at that time and while attending a course of Lead the Field, he was introduced to Toastmasters
to build up his confidence and leadership skills. He is a member of Lion City Toastmasters Club, his home club for the last 33 years. As the District Governor in 1995-1996, despite some personal challenges, with the help of the District Executive Committee,
they managed to make District 51where Singapore previously belong a full district after his term then. He was also a Past International Director. In term 2000-2001, he
was the first Singaporean to be elected in the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International. He was involved in the computerization of payments and membership records in the organisation.
He recommends to everyone of any occupation that they join Toastmasters to develop their self-confidence and presentation skills. He further enthuses that he would not be where he is
today if not for the skills he developed in Toastmasters, even managing to gain friends all over the world too. He is really an epitome of Where Leaders are Made in Toastmasters.
